TURNING GOALS INTO REALITY 2004

The 6th Annual Turning Goals into Reality event was well attended. Over 350 people were able to join us at this special event where we recognized the most significant accomplishments in Fiscal Year 2003 contributing towards the Agency's goals and objectives in aerospace technology.

This year represented a transition for the Enterprise as NASA prepares for the challenging mission of exploration. In January 2004, the Aerospace Technology Enterprise became the Aeronautics Enterprise to focus on its expertise on aviation and structuring the other aerospace themes to support the new Exploration Systems Enterprise.

The annual Turning Goals into Reality (TGIR) event is also in transition. Traditionally two and a half days long to incorporate a conference program and an awards ceremony, this year's event was a half-day event dedicated to giving recognition. The awards represent the work performed under the Aerospace Technology Enterprise.

The awards for achievements towards the goals and objectives, and a new award for educational excellence were presented in an afternoon ceremony at NASA Headquarters. The Administrator's Award and a new Associate Administrator's Choice Award will be presented at the National Air & Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. We would like to thank the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) for generously hosting the Awards Reception at the Udvar-Hazy Center.
