FUNDAMENTAL AERONAUTICS - 2007 ANNUAL MEETING

The Fundamental Aeronautics Program convened its first annual meeting at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel from October 30 - November 1, 2007. Three full days of plenary, breakout, and feedback sessions involved almost 400 attendees, including NASA personnel and partners from industry, academia, and other federal agencies.

Each of the projects in the program—Subsonic Fixed Wing, Subsonic Rotary Wing, Supersonics, and Hypersonics—provided its latest research results in four parallel tracks and a total of 118 A/V presentations. In addition, the kickoff session included directorate, program, and project overviews. These documents are provided below:

A CD containing the speakers' PowerPoint presentations, and a DVD of the Fundamental Aeronautics Program video, Today's Research...Tomorrow's Flight, was forwarded to all meeting attendees on November 30. These A/V materials are now available via request to the program at nasa-fa@nasa.gov.

The Fundamental Aeronautics Program is already planning its second annual meeting to be held in September 2008. The location and dates will be provided soon.
