Dr. K. KrishnaKumar
Towards Intelligent Flight Control
Dr. KrishnaKumar is a scientist and the group lead of the Adaptive
Control and Evolvable Systems group of the Intelligent Systems Division
at the NASA Ames Research Center, California. He currently serves as the
principal investigator for the Integrated Resilient Aircraft Control
project under the NASA Aviation Safety Program. His research and
development interests include intelligent systems and their applications
to control of aerospace systems and vehicles.
Before joining NASA in June of 2001, he was an associate professor and
interim head of Aerospace Engineering and the director of the
Intelligent Control Laboratory at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.
He has organized several tutorial workshops and short courses on various
aspects of intelligent systems and their applications. He is a past
associate editor of the AIAA Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics;
past member of the AIAA Journal of Aircraft editorial board; and past
chairman of the AIAA technical committee on Intelligent Systems. He has
several publications in international journals, books, and conference
proceedings in the subject of intelligent control. He is an associate
fellow of AIAA and the recipient of the NASA exceptional service medal.
