"Systems Engineering: From Concept to Reality"
The NASA Systems Engineering Award, sponsored in conjunction with the
SAE Aero Design® competitions, provides an opportunity for student teams
to obtain first-hand experience applying NASA’s best engineering
practices; manage their efforts for best performance, cost, schedule,
and risk; and interact with professional NASA engineers. In addition,
the winning submission at the West and East competitions will each earn
a $750 cash award.
The rules call for applying systems engineering best practices to the
design and development of the entries in the SAE Aero Design®
competitions and the submission of two reports. The first report
describes the team’s approach to managing performance, risk, cost, and
schedule to meet the SAE Aero Design® requirements. The second report is
the As Built report, which describes the rationale for changes between
the initial design and the final vehicle. Click on the link below for

Award.
